The cover-up rule
The most common daytime reminder is about swimwear indoors. A shirt, wrap or loose dress thrown over your swimsuit solves it. Pack one light cover-up per person and keep it in your pool bag.
Footwear
Bare feet belong on the pool deck. Inside, wear flip-flops at minimum. On a rolling sea day, choose sandals with a back strap: wet stairs and pool deck tiles get slick.
What to wear on port days
Comfort beats style ashore. Wear broken-in walking shoes, bring a hat, and dress for the weather at the port rather than on the ship.
Religious and cultural sites
Some churches, cathedrals and temples ask for covered shoulders and knees, particularly in Mediterranean ports. A light scarf or a pair of long trousers in your day bag avoids being turned away. Some Caribbean islands also frown on swimwear in town centres, so cover up when you leave the beach.
Excursions with gear rules
