About Cruise Questions Canada

Cruise Questions Canada is an independent guide to cruising for Canadian and US travellers. It started with the questions Canadians type into Google, because most cruise advice skips them: flying to Vancouver from Calgary, what a fare costs in CAD, whether NEXUS gets you on a ship. Many of those answers matter just as much to Americans, especially anyone sailing Alaska from Vancouver or Seattle, cruising from Florida, or comparing cruise lines' rules. We answer them in plain language, with numbers, showing prices in US dollars with Canadian-dollar equivalents where it helps.

How the answers are researched

Each article starts from a real search query, then draws on cruise line policies and published fare structures, port and government sources (Canada Border Services Agency, Government of Canada travel advice, US Customs and Border Protection, port authorities and national parks), and the practical experience of Canadian cruisers. Prices are quoted as realistic ranges for 2026–27 sailings rather than single figures, because fares move daily. Where a question genuinely depends on your dates, cabin and ship, we say so rather than guess.

How the site is funded — and what that means

We are not a travel agency and we don't sell travel. Where a question needs personal pricing, we point readers to a licensed cruise consultant who can quote and book at the same price as booking direct, often with extras attached. If you book through that link, the consultant earns a commission from the cruise line; the price you pay does not change. That referral is how the site pays for itself. It has no influence on which questions we answer or what we say — several articles explain when booking direct, or not cruising at all, is the better choice.
